Successes on the Andalucia Sunshine Tour

Next to the Mediterranean Equstrian Tour in Oliva, on Spanish soil there was of course a lot of action at the Andalucia Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera last weekend. Here too, a few Zangersheide horses jumped into the spotlights and ensured victory and places of honour.

One of those victories was secured by the Dutch lady rider Sanne Thijssen with the 10-year-old mare Cupcake Z, a daughter of Chacco Blue and Caretano Z who was bred in the Netherlands by Sandra van den Broek-Wilmes. Thijssen and Cupcake Z started their week on Wednesday with a 10th place during a 1.45m class and secured a victory on Friday during the 1.45m high Longines Ranking class.

The victory during that 1.45m class on Wednesday went to the Irish rider Dermott Lennon with the 9-year-old mare All Pleasure Hero II Z, a daughter of our chestnut stallion Aganix du Seigneur Z and For Pleasure who was bred in Ireland by Horse Invest Ltd HPBN. With a clear round in 63.02 seconds they were more than a full second ahead of the competition.

During the 1.50m class on Sunday there was also success for the blood of Aganix du Seigneur Z thanks to the 11-year-old mare Attoucha Hero Z (Aganix du Seigneur Z x Diamant de Semilly). Under the saddle of the American lady rider Paris Sellon, the breeding product of Gerry Marron and Luc Henry jumped to a nice 2nd place.

Also on Sunday, the CSI4* GP was on the program and in that the Belgian rider Gilles Thomas managed to jump into the spotlight with the 9-year-old stallion Elfra van Beek Z (El Salvador x Vagabond de la Pomme – B: 't Eirbissemhof ). In a jump-off for which 9 combinations were able to qualify, Thomas and Elfra van Beek Z managed to set the fastest time in 39.92 seconds, but due to a fault along the way they had to settle for 5th place in the ranking. The day before, Gilles Thomas also jumped to a 6th in a 1.40m class with the 11-year-old stallion Feromas van Beek Z (Fantomas de Muze x Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve – B: 't Eirbissemhof).
